Sharp-edged flint sourced from the English countryside — the same geology that sparked fires for centuries.
High-carbon steel, curved for comfort and shaped to throw a shower of hot sparks on contact with flint.
Pre-charred cotton tinder that catches even the weakest spark and holds a glowing coal long enough to transfer to your tinder bundle.
Dried tinder fungus and/or amadou — natural materials that bridge the ember and the flame.
Cognac or black full-grain leather, stitched to age beautifully. A wrap-around buckle keeps everything secure on trail or shelf.

From cold hands
to open flame
Grip the flint firmly between thumb and forefinger, with a sharp edge pointing upward. Rest a small piece of char cloth on top of the flint.
Hold the C-shaped striker in your dominant hand and strike it downward sharply against the flint edge. Sparks will fly into the char cloth.
The char cloth will begin to glow orange at the point of spark contact. This glowing coal can last 30–60 seconds — more than enough time.
Fold the char cloth into your tinder bundle, close it gently around the ember, and blow softly and steadily until the bundle ignites into flame.
